7 jan, experience the cold @ basel, switzeland.

I'm back! Obviously. Dublin was so so friendly and welcome me with countless raindrops and wind that go through my bone. The temperature dropped a little when school starts. If you say time flies, I say no, it went into another dimension when we were blinking the eyes. It is faster than it seems.

Well well, I didn't want blogging to be a burden to me, but I can't stop it from becoming a burden. Ok what I am going to do now is simple, and please be patient looking at the pictures that are not exactly in their correct order. Well, I have 1047 + (1500++) + 160 pictures here and four eyes are not exactly enough.

Lets talk about day 2 of sem 2 first. Short. Tired. Boring. Hungry. Lame. Okay luh! It's not THAT bad, just maybe I am too playful and rebellious :P Practically have 3 hours of lectures everyday except friday because fridays are free!! Don't get me wrong. It's not that I don't like Dublin and want to go home just because I have to wear more than 2 layers of clothes or hate new sem starting too early or don't know what to do all the time besides feeling hungry. In fact, I am perfectly happy to do what I like at where I want to be.

I don't really know how to spell switzeland because in my dictionary, it says switzeland but google says do you mean switzerland? Anyways, switzeland with a r is so pretty!

On ryan air to our first stop, Basel @ 7.10am.

Happily, showing our inter-rail train ticket that can be use for 5 days within 10 days.

* dong dong qiang*

And the members of the tofufa winter trip are:

Fiona, the navigator.

Bernice, the interpreter, and partly a photographer.

Me! The photographer.

and yy, in charging of food.

Basel town hall.

I wonder what would people say when they see yellow, purple or rather a pink painted house in Malaysia.
"ewwww, that's ugly?"

Well, travelling makes you appreciate little things around you and swear to the sky or earth and promise that you will improvise yourself when you get back to reality.
So, *sigh* bring me back to reality now after my ten days of thousands and thousands steps at the 4 countries.

Bernice says she wants to try all kinds of pasta around the world.
I wonder if she wants to eat this.

Paradise of food ha-ha makes my life so hard now that I have to lose Xkg before Malaysian night and then keep it that way. But, no signs of regret to show.
You can call this trip a food trip and seriously we don't mind, looking at the amout of food we ate.
Been too ambitious that I will only eat the food I brought along, but no way when we hide inside all sorts of grocery shops and supermarkets when the leg cannot move.

Bridges, walls, trees and long long streets are the best locations to pose and Basel, was ticked in all the boxes.

It is not true if I say it is not cold in basel, just because we were wrapped with 7 layers of clothes. The fountain was iced by the breeze.

Basically the main attractions in european countries are namely the cathedral, the mountains, the colourful buildings, historical walls, trees lying in a line like those in jimmy's drawings, bridges with stories, river that flows from one country to another, museums, palace, castles, statues, tombs, and cute little babies and doggies.

I walked along the boulevard, imagining a lady in black walking by with a white labrador retriever, two birds resting on the snow and leaving their cautious behind, an old granny sitting by the stove, knitting a green colour beanie for the new born, a palace maid falling in love with the prince, a talented chef in an unknown restaurant, an old man praying alone inside a church opposite a primary school where the little childrens are having a snow ball war, and a bowl of hot carrot soup with some toast, being kept in the oven stove.

And then we learn how to define ugly.

We took a bus from the airport to the train terminal station, sth like SBB CFF FFF (yy knows this) to walk to our hostel and I am amazed by how good is fiona at navigating and bernice, at jotting down the directions before starting the tour.

I was wearing the beanie from my secret santa, yy when Fiona came over and asked me why would I take a picture of something that is also present in Dublin and even Malaysia.
But the difficulty here is don't you also take pictures of nasi lemak when you are having one in an open house in Dublin?

eating hot maroni in the cold city.

Market place, where we thought there will be flea market selling ear rings.

That was a book with a pig head on the cover, in French I assume. 3 lessons of German doesn't really help. Switzeland, being surrounded by 5 countries has 3 main languages- French, German and Italian. Ahaa! I know Danke sui(I'm bad at spellings), merci beacoup, and prosim!

It was slightly below negative and my smile was frozen.

And we don't have to dream for a white christmas anymore.

This place looks like Harry Potter.

grrrrr.. Abraham...

And we thought we were in Korea.

Or in jimmy's masterpiece.

On a tram.

*ehem* I am not sure if some pictures here were deleted previously, but for sure I forgot to post up our pictures infront of YMCA youth hostel.

More posts will be up shortly (I hope), because Malaysian Night is just around the corner, and chinese new year! and slave auction! ok.. Maybe that is not counted since I am not involved. So there we were, places where bernice was looking for postcards to send home, fiona looking for snow globe for her best friend, yinye hunting for ear rings and me, keeping the memory in place so that I can show it to all my beloved ones. Byebye to day 1.

p.s: modules for this sem are: cancer chemother and immunopath, cardiovascular and renal disease, disability, genetics, perinatal, and paediatric, and principles of infections. elective: japanese stage 2(linhui, this is all for you). Not so sure, but I think I am falling in love with disability module so now that I have to learn to speak straight to the point, be clear and thoughtful and WISE in all sense.

p.p.s: Bernice, do you realise that we took similiar pictures, some even at similiar angles even when we didn't know? *clap clap*
